A beach umbrella and two loungers for €20, deckchairs for €6: Riccione's popular prices. "Don't shoot the lifeguards."

Riccione (Rimini), August 11, 2025 – “ Our beaches aren't expensive, enough with the lies.” Riccione's mayor, Daniela Angelini , has put her feet on the sand to test the reality behind the fears circulating online about expensive beach umbrellas. “It's not like that, we have to say. The decline , which is much smaller than what appears in the media, is not linked to the prices of the services offered on our beach.” The mayor's defense of Riccione's beach establishments is across the board. Today she spoke directly with the beach attendants . Angelini started from the northern area, from beach 121, where “ prices haven't been adjusted for several years now,” assures owner Paolo Angelini. Then the mayor moved on to Playa del Sol, areas 108-109. This is one of the most popular beach resorts, and prices for an umbrella and two loungers range from €29 to €39 per day, depending on proximity to the shore. Another stop is Spiaggia del Sole, in zones 86-87. Prices range from €30 to €44, but the offerings include everything from a library to a safe, plus daily entertainment, two pools, and more. If you head to the Misano border , you'll find Beach Resort 2, managed by Oscar Berardi, for €20 per day for an umbrella and two loungers. A lounger alone costs €6 .

"This "This is proof that the alleged seaside crisis is not caused by beach prices ," the mayor continues. "There is no crowding gap. The operators themselves tell me that the season is in line with the past. The calculations will be done at the end, we'll see. We need to analyze what happened this season. In a tourism industry that is tied to the weekend, having had several weekends with uncertain weather in July certainly didn't help. Clearly, there are strategies that need to be modified for the future, and that's what we're doing with the Strategic Plan." For the mayor, Riccione is competitive on prices even compared to foreign destinations . "I understand that locations in emerging markets can be more affordable. But if we look at other destinations, from Mykonos to Ibiza, I don't think we can say that Riccione's seaside offerings are uncompetitive."
